Claire is a Northwoods based artist, writer, and illustrator who credits her love of stories to her mother-- a children's librarian-- and her art teacher. Since picking up her first book, Claire has received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Writing from Wheaton College, and Master of Fine Arts From Hollins University.
Claire's work explores the intersection of the natural world and human perception. It recognizes the power of childlike imagination, creativity, and curiosity through elements of child's play and narrative.
She draws influence from Georgia O'Keefe, Christian Robinson, Melissa Sweet, and lived experiences-- which have included growing up in the American Midwest and teaching in the Mississippi Delta.
When she is not creating, you can find her playing with her fluffy white dog-- Daisy.
